EXODUS @ BLUEBIRD THEATER 8/21/10 DENVER-CO

Exodus are a trash metal band from the Bay Area. They been around since the early 80’s and where founded by Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Gary Holt and Tom Hunting. They have released 9 albums, their current one “Exhibit B: The Human Condition,” was released this year and it’s one of their best. Through the years they’ve gone trough many line-up changes and the death of their vocalist Paul Baloff, but they continue bringing the thrash to the fans.

Boris are an experimental/noise rock band from Japan, they incorporate different styles into their music such as, drone metal, psychedelic rock and ambient. They have released many albums and collaborations with such bands like Sun O))), Merzbow and Ian Astbury from The Cult. Evil Drone!

Corrosion Of Conformity is one of the original punk/metal crossover bands from the early 80’s. Coming out of North Carolina they have reformed with the original “Animosity”-era lineup that is Mike Dean, Reed Mullin and Woody Weatherman.

TURBO AC’S @ BENDERS TAVERN 8/12/10 DENVER-CO

Turbo Ac’s are a surf guitar injected punk rock, greased up rockabillied rock and roll from NY. They formed in the mid 90’s by Kevin Cole (guitar/vocals) and Kevin Prunty (drums/vocals) and they toured all over the world gaining a large following in Europe. In 2006 they added Tim Lozada (bass/vocals) and Jer VonDuck (guitar/vocals). “Live Fast…. Die Slow.”

NEKROMANTIX @ BLUEBIRD THEATER 8/11/10 DENVER-CO

Nekromantix are a psychobilly band from Copenhagen, Denmark fromed in 1989. They incorporate horror themes into their music, which is written by the only original member Kim Necroman (upright bass/vocals), also in the band are Franc (guitars/vocals) and Lux (drums). Life is a Grave and I Dig It!

THE HIGH CONFESSIONS – “Turning Led In To Gold With…” Industrial rock from four very different musicians. THC are Chris Connelly (Finitribe, Revco, Murder Inc.), Sanford Parker (Minsk), Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth) and Jeremy Lemos (White/Light). They play a  real heavy psychedelic industrial rock mixed with electronic ambience, drone soundscapes and avant-garde. The combination of Chris Connelly’s vocals and Steve Shelly’s drums reminds me of Pigface’s early records, just a wall of sonic sound. On the last two songs “Dead Tenements” and “Chlorine and Crystal” this group really comes together and delivers in my opinion, two of the best songs in recent times.

Makh Daniels vocalist for San Francisco’s thrash punks Early Graves, was killed in a van accident 8/02/10. Rust in peace Makh.

INTRONAUT @ THE MARQUIS THEATER 7/28/10 DENVER-CO

Intronaut are a progressive/experimental metal band from Los Angeles, CA. Formed in 2004 and led by Sacha Dunable (guitars & vocals), Dave Timnick (guitars & vocals), Joe Lester (bass) and Danny Walker (drums, samples); they create psychedelic brutality with harsh vocals. Their last album “Prehistoricisms” was released in 2008 and fuses indian drumming with metal creating a different sound from all the post-metal bands. “Valley Of Smoke” will be released later in 2010.
