Scott Kelly is a dark folk/americana singer from Oakland, he is better known as one of the voices and founding member of metal titans Neurosis. He has released a couple of albums “Spirit Bound Flesh” and “The Wake” heavy, bleak folk music that creates an atmosphere and mood with it’s minimalistic acoustic guitar and deep soulful voice, the repetitive driving force makes it eerily haunting and hypnotic.

MAYHEM @ THE BLUEBIRD THEATER 11/30/11 DENVER-CO

Mayhem the legendary black metal band from Norway will be in the Mile Hi City with their post-apocalyptic destruction. Formed in the early 80’s, they started off with a primal, raw lo-fidelity sound and as the years went by they incorporated electronic elements and avant-garde into their music. Attila, Necrobutcher and Hellhammer play at high speeds with extreme complexity and heavy distortion, insane blast beats and raspy, screeching vocals full of hate and darkness. Hail Satan!

VNV NATION @ THE SUMMIT MUSIC HALL 11/26/11 DENVER-CO

VNV Nation are a British electronic band that formed in the early 90’s. They started off playing  industrial/EBM and then became a futurepop/trance band. They released “Praise the Fallen” an album with harsh electronic beats, barriers of noise, intricate sequences and dark vocals, then they released a more mellow “Empires” a synth/pop record with throbbing beats and upbeat rhythm sections, more melodic. Pure naked machine beats!

Come out and enjoy a beautiful night and throw-up some turkey with some gore, fast tempos, death, rape, detuned guitars, forensic pathalogy, splatter, pitchshifted vocals and Satan when the Sickening Southwest Tour hits the Mile Hi City, here are the bands playing:

THE ATLAS MOTH @ MOE’S ORIGINAL BAR B QUE 11/21/11 ENGLEWOOD-CO

The Atlas Moth are a psych/sludge/doom metal band from Chicago, they created a dark psychedelic atmosphere with their first album “A Glorified Piece Of Blue Sky” full of blackened screams, dissonant guitar harmonies, rumbling drums and echoing guitars, a slow psychedelic funeral hymn.

Also playing: Batillus – blackened doom metal from NYC, they’ve released the excellent album “Furnace” and Ghost Of Glaciers – post-metal from Littleton. 

WARBEAST @ THE SUMMIT MUSIC HALL 11/16/11 DENVER-CO

Warbeast are a thrash metal band from Texas, they are still touring behind their first album “Krush The Enemy” a heavy and thrashy album full of high speed riffing, violent drum fills and face melting solos. Pure thrash carnage!

WAYNE “THE TRAIN” HANCOCK @ THE ORIENTAL THEATER 11/13/11 DENVER-CO

Wayne “The Train” Hancock plays Juke Joint Swing a mix of western swing, blues, a touch of rockabilly, big band, honky-tonk and nothing but female troubles and the long sprawling road. Pure ramshackle old time juke joint bliss!

“Well I might go dancin’ or a shootin’ pool, But it’s a hep trap baby, and the cats are real cool, Well it’s the real thing, it sure is a welcome sight, It’s where I cut my teeth and I’m goin’ joint jumpin’ tonight.”
