SUBCON BEYOND FEST. 2011 @ THE GOTHIC THEATER 1/19/11 ENGLEWOOD-CO

Subconscious Communications is an independent record label, a musician collective and a remix team founded by the late great Dwayne Goettel of Skinny Puppy and Phil Western of Frozen Rabbit, it specializes in industrial/experimental/electronic music and it’s now run by Cevin Key of Skinny Puppy. They are doing a few shows in the west coast and we are lucky enough to get a show, here are the bands and dj’s playing:

Download – Created by Dwayne Goettel and Cevin Key in 1994, they are an experimental/industrial project that also featured Phil Western and Mark Spybey. After the death of Goettel, only Key and Western are continuing the band. They started as a more experimental project but have progressed as a more melodic industrial/electronic outfit. They have released several lp’s an ep’s like “Furnace,” “III,” “Effector,” “Sidewinder” and “Microscopic.” Trippy and hypnotic music and visuals when they play live.

PlatEAU – An IDM (intelligent dance music) project form Cevin Key and Phil Western, they will probably mix their set with Download’s set, they are very similar.

Dead Voices On Air – Mark Spybey’s experimental/dark ambient project. “Music for the eyes.”

Gnome & Spybey – An ambient/experimental project by Tony D. Oporto and Mark Spybey.

Wet Mango – Cristina Fuente’s solo gameboy project, dirty, glitchy, broken up and heavy. She uses two gameboy color’s with LSDJ and the Korg Ds-10 and a small synth. Trippy.

DJ Mudwulf – Industrial/goth/IDM dj from Denver.

((diverse)) – Drum and bass dj from Denver?
